Chester Rally Week to enter car on Rally GB national 2017

Brynmor Pierce and Alan Jones look forward to the challenge

Iconic Impreza set to take the start ramp in Chester City centre

As part of the celebrations for hosting the Rally GB National Rally start on Friday 27th October, Chester Rally Week are set to enter their own car.

In a change of roles, well known Mold based co-driver Brynmor Pierce will be driving with Buckley domiciled Co-Driver Alan Jones alongside.

Rally GB’s return to the city in 2016 saw over 10,000 people enjoy the spectacle of World Rallying in an unrivalled environment, this year promises to be even bigger with sideshows and displays planned alongside the rally itself.

The two day national rally is set to be a stern challenge for car and crew with over 55 miles of timed stages stretching out across Cheshire, Mid & North Wales over the Saturday and Sunday with crews returning to the service park in Deeside on Saturday night. The first stage at Cholmondeley castle is one Brynmor knows well having driven the Toyota GB backed GT86 at the Power & Speed festival in 2016 at the venue.

Brynmor,’’ It really will be a dream come true to take the Subaru over the ramp on the 27th in a city rich with rallying heritage, we’re here to enjoy the atmosphere and experience whilst helping promote Chester as a venue’’ ‘’ We shook the car down recently which identified a few areas to work on but we’re all set for the challenge’’

Alan, ‘’Having lived in the city previously and watched events here as a child I can’t believe I’m getting to compete, this will be an occasion to cherish’’

Backing comes from Lightning House Ltd, the company run by Brynmor which brought Rally GB back to the city last year for the first time since 1996. Whilst there will be no celebratory doughnuts happening it’ll be a chance for people to remember the halcyon moments when Colin Mcrae won the World Championship in the city back in 1995.

Prior to the event the Subaru will be attending various promotional days in and around the County.

The team are in a unique position to promote brands and a package is available should anyone be interested in getting their business involved. Please contact Brynmor on 07952592445 or
